On 3 April, 2017,Japan and Singapore have registered a gain in Naphtha prices on account of more demand with the exception of Europe.

In Japan, Naphtha price was noted around at 481 USD/MT on CFR basis increasing by 11 USD/MT in comparison to the previous day.

Naphtha price in Singapore was observed at 52 $/Barrel as compared to the 51 $/Barrel on the previous day.

In Europe, the price was found to be 461 USD/MT, decreasing by 2 USD/MT on CIF basis against the previous close.

Styrene Monomer prices followed an upward trend in Asian Countries like China, South Korea, Japan, South East Asia and India on 31 March,2017

The Global daily basket price of crude oil gained momentum on account of more demand than before in Middle East and United States on 31 March,2017.

In South East Asia,China and South Korea Butadiene prices went down on a larger scale due to inactive demand on 31 March,2017.

On 31 March,2017 Japan spotted the fall in its Naphtha prices but on a smaller effect.

In China, Vinyl Acetate Monomer also faces a decline in its prices on account of inactive demand on 31 March,2017.

On 31 March,2017 China has witnessed a drop in its EDC prices due to moderate demand.

A decrement was observed in the propylene prices of South East Asia, India and Japan except South Korea whose prices went up on 31 March,2017.

EVA prices have remained down on account of year end pressure and subdued off take. Prices had jumped earlier this month from Rs 140/kg to Rs 145/kg due to short supply of material. Bookings from abroad were at a higher price too, leading to the price increase. 

The spurt in price lead to a slow down in demand, and couple with financial year ending pressures, EVA values are currently exuding a downward trend.

The current Mumbai EVA price is in the range of Rs 133-135/kg, down significantly from the highs in the second week of March. An immediate upturn in price is not expected as demand is expected to remain moderate to stable.
